Oud Workshop vs Private Lessons: Which Is Right for You?

If you want to learn the oud or Arabic singing in Dubai, you have two paths: a small group workshop or one-to-one private lessons. Both work; they suit different goals.

The workshop: a fun start in a group

  • 8 sessions × 40 min for AED 1,500.
  • Only 8 seats; the start date is announced when the group fills, and your seat is confirmed by transfer.
  • Great if you want to try the oud or singing with others in a motivating group.
  • One fixed outline for the whole group.

Private lessons: full focus on you

  • 8 lessons × 40 min for AED 2,000 paid upfront, or AED 300 single.
  • The plan is built around your level and goal, with instant correction.
  • Flexible times, in person usually at Al Safa Art & Design Library, as a home visit (extra fee), or online.

Which should you choose?

Choose the workshop for a social start at a lower cost per session. Choose private lessons if you have a specific goal, a changing schedule, or want to progress as fast as possible. Many students start with the workshop and continue privately.
