Arabic Singing Lessons in Dubai & Online
Arabic singing lessons and vocal coaching with Wael Salah, an Arabic singer and music educator with a BA in Music Education and a Diploma in Music, and founder of Rouh Dubai Choir. In person in Dubai or online worldwide, for all levels.

Who these lessons are for
For anyone who loves Arabic singing and wants to start the right way, singers who want to improve breathing, pitch and performance, and those who want to understand the maqamat and how they are sung. No previous experience is needed; we start from your voice as it is today.
What we work on
- Breathing and support: organised breath that carries long phrases without strain.
- Resonance and placement: a clear voice that carries without pushing from the throat.
- Diction: clear Arabic consonants and vowels within the melody.
- Pitch and quarter tones: singing the maqamat accurately, accompanied by the oud.
- ʿUrab and ornaments: learned slowly, then used in service of the meaning.
- Performance and tarab: phrasing, pauses, the qafla and expression.
To go deeper, read Arabic singing technique basics and an introduction to Arabic maqamat for singers.
In person in Dubai or online
In-person lessons are usually held at Dubai Public Libraries, mostly Al Safa Art & Design Library, with home visits within Dubai available for an extra fee agreed by area. Online lessons take place by video call, worldwide.
Length and prices
Each lesson is 40 minutes. The 8-lesson course is AED 2,000, paid upfront (two lessons a week or one double session a week), or a single lesson is AED 300, paid each time. See courses & prices for details.
What a lesson looks like
A lesson starts with posture, breathing and a gentle warm-up, then works on the maqam, ornaments or song you are learning, with the oud accompanying you. It ends with a short routine to practise at home, so progress continues between lessons.
